I use the term "plein air" photography to describe my work, a term borrowed from painters, because I like to use the available light and conditions to make the picture as it exists in front of me. I like walking in nature with my dog and my camera and most of my images show that I like spending my time in the woods and along the river. I aim to catch the beauty that is showing itself in any particular moment, just as it is. And there is never any shortage of beauty in nature. Currently living in Richmond, Virginia, I'm drawn to the history of the city and also the 'here and now' of the population and culture. The city reaches back into history for it's identity and is rich with architectural interest and detail; and, the people are traditionalists at one extreme and new funk at the other, living peacefully side by side. The longer I'm here, the more there is to see. And very close to my heart are the animals that keep us company in this world. I've always been enchanted by our 4-footed friends and capturing their character is my newest passion. My work is available in various stores and galleries in Richmond and also by custom order. Most images on this website are available for purchase. Please contact me if you are interested so I can work with you directly. Thanks for taking the time to look at my work. You are welcome to share your comments in my guestbook. |
